I began practicing yoga 15 years ago to foster self-healing after sustaining a physical injury. Little did I realize the powerful alchemy of yoga, not only in playing a pivotal role in helping to restore my bodily health, but in shaping and enriching my entire life. I discovered the beauty and balm of an integrative practice in which every aspect of my being was attended and aligned—body, mind, and spirit.
With more than 30 years of experience in the fitness industry, I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) with Yoga Alliance. I have studied in the BKS Iyengar, Sivananda, and Integral Yoga traditions. I’ve also served at Satchidananda Ashram as a staff volunteer.
In the practices I lead, students will experience a welcoming environment in which they can practice with acceptance and self-compassion. In my Vinyasa classes we coordinate the flow of breath with mindful movement to stay present with the vibrancy of our experience. We honor the body and our own inner voice, and cultivate equanimity. In addition to Vinyasa, I also enjoy teaching yin yoga and leading meditation groups.
My experience with yoga has taught me that it is an ever-evolving practice that enhances our relationship with our own selves and to life’s unfolding events. For this reason, I’m sure to be a lifelong student of yoga. It’s both a privilege and a joy to share my love of the nourishing, transformative path of yoga with others.
